Strategic Combat Interface (SCI)

HISTORY

Created by the labs of Taldren, distributed by Activision, and the only SCI officially sanctioned by XenoCorp Inc.,  the Strategic Combat Interface  is a real-time starship combat interface for a Captain of a space-faring vessel. Named after a popular 20th Century American Television show in honor of those ideals in which it held dear, not the Federation Naval Organization, Starfleet Command is a valuable tool for the would be Captain, and utilized fully by XenoCorp Inc. in the safety and efficiency of her Fleet Captains and Pilots.

Referred to in XenoCorp as the Strategic Combat Interface, the SCI features real time 3D tactical immersion in a realistic and efficient environment. It affords the Starship Captain the ability to customize and program new maneuvers, strategies and concepts without having to instruct the crew while in actual battle. This "semi-autonomic" interface results in almost no lag between orders given on the Bridge of a starship, and the execution of said orders by the crew.

The third in the legendary series, Starfleet Command III : TNG truly reflects the next generation of command control  for modern starship exploration and combat. The user interface has been completely redesigned to allow the captain very efficient control of all the primary systems of the 3rd generation and beyond starship, while streamlining the actual method of operations. This resulted in an overall 26% increase in command efficency, which of course translated into much longer service life for anyone utilizing the SCI as a primary command interface.

Incorporating the latest FTL subspace real time relaying, the new interface also allows the Captain to not only command his/her/it's starship with increased efficiency, but also allows real time communication to dock/refit masters, officer pools assignment officers, and weapons refit specialists. In the great tradition of the SFC series, SFC3:TNG continues the trend towards starship combat with minimal effort and maximum efficiency.

SFC3 SCI Interface

The SCI mark II-OP, otherwise know as  SFC2 : Orion Pirates,  features an updated weapons interface that is incorporated to tie in 1st and 2nd generation  fire control and weapons technological advancements, as well as the 1st generation and 2nd generation "X" class ships enhancements.

With a streamlined Comms module, this expansion standalone is worth every cent of it's license cost.

In it's second incarnation, the SFC Volume II: Empires at War refined the interface, and allowed for more control over various weapons and ships systems. Controls are map-customizable, allowing for each Captain to create unique layouts and command palettes according to their own preference. This attribute alone increased the efficiency, and thus the life expectancy, of a Starship and her crew by over 47%. With an intuitive interface, the SCI  is an invaluable evolution of the Starship Captain.

As well, after the General War that wracked the Alpha Quadrant, the Miraki and ISC racial command interface sections were added, as well as additional ship hull classes for all the races to reflect the massive build up of naval fleets in the General War. Specific tweaks to the interface resulted in an 19% increase in order relay efficiency.  The only real issue that seemed to become predominate was the introduction of a subspace relay system to communicate with the fighter/PF's - this system seemed to operate sporadically, with some considered low reliability.

SFC2 SCI Interface

In it's first incarnation, Starfleet Command - Volume I introduced the revolutionary idea of allowing a Starship Captain the ability to control almost all aspects of the operation of a Starship, while delegating the control matrix subsystem to the crew. This allows the Captain to devote all their attention on the battle at hand, while not relying on autonomous systems that could be easily disabled by opposing enemy.

This command interface became so popular that several of the Alpha Quadrants superpowers consigned Taldren Labs to customize the interface for each racial navy, resulting in even more efficiency than previously thought possible.
