LOOTING PROTOCOL

Postby FA_Frey_XC » Sun Aug 30, 2009 8:08 pm

This is a post to clear up any questions about looting.

As it is currently, we've no reason to modify the Master Loot options. Keep it that way :)

Here's the current protocol regarding BLUE and PURPLE drops in any instance, epic or not:

I.) If your ACTIVE character can use the item, then you may roll NEED for the item.

II.) If any of your alternates can use the item AND the item is Bind on Equip (BoE), then you may roll GREED for the item.

If the item is Bind on Pickup (BoP), then obviously if none of the active characters can use it, but an alternate can of one who is CURRENTLY a member of the party, then that member may leave the instance to retrieve the alternate and pick up the loot.

ANYONE who just "reacts" to a blue drop and rolls NEED for it before considering the rest of the Guild members present will forfeit their rights to loot for the following, based upon progressive sanctions:

FIRST INFRACTION: A warning will be issued.

SECOND INFRACTION: Individual will be placed upon a NO LOOT restriction, IE he / she will NOT be eligible for loot drops in party for a period of ONE WEEK.

THIRD INFRACTION: Individual will be placed upon a NO LOOT restriction, IE he / she will NOT be eligible for loot drops in party for a period of ONE MONTH.

FOURTH and any subsequent INFRACTION: Individual will be likely removed from the guild.

These rules are non-negotiable.

I concur.. Rolling on a recipie or Item that is not designed for your character class is considered ninja Looting.

In the Raids I have been a part of, There is a Similar Looting policy, though not exactly the same.

Most Pug raids (people gathered randomly) use the following loot rules

Gear :

1) When Blue item drops, look at the stats :
...A) if the stats are for your class, Roll need unless you have an item that is currently better or same as the drop.
...B) if the stats are not for your class, but you want for RP purposes, roll Greed.
...C) In Raids, there is recious little time since Raids take an average of 35 min to 1 1/2 Hours for T1 and 4 hours + for T2
......1) Alts are not allowed to log in to claim BoP loot from the Raid
......2) Rot loot is taken by the orginator of the raid to sell at the Merchant.
......3) BoE equipment will be rolled on Greed for your alternates and can be sent via mail by trader to your Alt.

2) When Epic gear drops (excluding Weapons) :
...A) Make sure of the class ofthe gear, if it is not your class, pass
...B) If 2 items are the same (Ex.: 2 PoM T1 Chests), everyone passes.
......1) If there are only 2 of that class in Raid, the items will be distributed 1 to each of that class.
......2) If there are more than 2 of a class in the raid, a 3rd party bot will be used to roll on the item between each player that has need of the drop.
...C) If the item is for your class, and there are more than 1 of that class in the raid that needs the item, then they click Need and allow the built in game mechanics determine who wins the drop.

3) Weapon Drops Epic :
...A) Due to Epic weapons no longer being class specific by nature, you need to follow the Weapon Chart and look up the items that your class is naturally suppose to have (the re-itemization patch changed the names of the weapons, however the stats make it clear which class should have the item)
...B) When a Weapon Drops, Everyone Passes and a 3rd party bot will be used to determine who recieves the weapon as based on the class the weapon belongs to. . . Ex.: There are 2 Assassins in Raid and a Ranger, the Song of Demise drops, everyone passes. The Ranger could use the Dagger, however the item will be rolled on between the Assassins only. If the Assassins decline the weapon, then the next Logical class can roll / Pick up the item, which in the example would be the Ranger.

4) Recipies :
...A) Recipies for tradeskills can only be rolled on for NEED by those currently trained in the crafting skill both BoP and BoE.
...B) Those with no Tradeskills can roll Greed on any recipie
...C) Those with Alts that have a Tradeskill for the recipie that drops can roll Greed on BoE recipies only.
...D) Recipies for rare materials used for crafting Culture Armor / Culture Weapons can only be rolled on for Need by those that are trained in the respective trade skill, others can roll Greed.

These rules make it fair for those who have chosen specific tradeskills and to keep people honest in Raids.

Also setting the Loot system to Master Looter (make sure you keep Team Leader for this option) will prevent Ninja Lootig of items as well.

Please be sure to be familiar with the forums for our raid alliance here:

http://crimsoncavaliers.guildlaunch.com/

This is also where you can sign up and get your character listed so you can sign on the raid planner.

You must be signed in 3 hours before a raid to be guaranteed a spot.
